The “Ranchero”, the artistry is just…wow. Completely hand forged in Mexico’s centuries old fashion. The cheeks are 8 inches, mouthpiece approx. 5.25 inches, large O-ring swivels for rein connections, separate curb strap connections give instant release to your horse, copper inlaid mouthpiece front and back, copper roller (not a cricket), nor is it a swivel port, it's a solid mouthpiece with the most intricate engraved cheeks you will find. There is some action and signal from the cheeks which swivel inward & outward. It is a well-balanced bit with a weighted body compared to machine made bits. The Ranchero is a masterpiece.
Hand forged Mexican Pavonado Negro are stainless steel cheek piece bits. These are made in a process translate-able to oxidized stainless steel (pavonado negro). This style of blacksmithing allows for the cheeks to never rust, so the engraving will always give the “silver like” look and the black portions have been oxidized already in the process so no rusting there either. Only the mouth piece will oxidize. These are hand made and each bit is a piece of artistry.
Note: Variations to the engraving and designs will take place. No bit is identical to another and cheek designs may have variations on each bit. These are completely hand crafted, not machine made. If the bit shows “sold out” on the website please call for details on the availability.
